Sliven textile industry

   The beginning of textile factory production and Bulgarian industrialization was laid in Sliven. The city has been an important industrial center throughout all periods of the countrys historical development. Even today, the textile industry has a decisive importance for the economic image and economic prosperity of the city.

The educational program "Sliven Textile Industry" examines the emergence of the textile industry, the stages it went through, the large textile factories of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and the encouraging legislation of the Bulgarian state to support our young industry.

Demonstrations of some textile machines typical of the period are carried out.

The educational program is held in the museum. For illustration, objects from the museums collection that are not exhibited in the permanent exhibition are also included.

It is suitable for students of secondary and upper secondary education and for students.
