Silk

   Silk is a natural textile fiber of animal origin. It has an interesting millennial history. Silk production is known in Bulgaria and in Sliven. Due to its excellent properties, today it is used in various fields - in the fashion industry, as technical textiles, in cosmetics, in medicine, etc.

 The educational program "Silk" has been developed in three versions: for children, for adults and for people with disabilities.

It consists of three modules:

Theoretical - giving a presentation about silk from a historical, scientific, social and economic aspect. Presentation for adults: "Silk - a thread, millennia long"; presentation for children: "The secrets of silk".

Empirical - conducting microscopic observations, demonstrations and experiments related to the structure of silk fiber and its properties.

Creative - art studio "Painted Silk" - creating an individual or common canvas (picture, scarves, greeting cards, etc.)

The educational program is held inside and outside the museum.

It is adapted for different age groups. No prior artistic skills are required.

Duration - 2 hours.

It is held by prior request/ pre-registration.
